Sharon R. (Holcomb) Morgan, 77, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed into eternal rest in the early morning of Saturday, September 21, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family.
Sharon was born on January 21, 1947, in Mishawaka, to the late Hoy N. and Ruth H. (Bates) Holcomb. She grew up in the area, where she met the love of her life, Eugene K. Morgan. They were married on June 20, 1970, in South Bend. While in South Bend, Sharon worked at Associates, Bethel College and Southlawn Cemetery. In 1995, Sharon and Gene moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico to start a Home Missions work. They were there until 2009 when they moved to Fort Stockton, Texas.
Sharon loved being a mother and a wife. She liked reading, traveling and telling others about Jesus. She had a wonderful talent of playing many different instruments.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 54 years, Eugene K. Morgan of Fort Stockton, Texas, and by her children Deborah (Debbie) Morgan (Tony Ochoa) of Tucumcari, New Mexico, and David E. Morgan of Fort Stockton, Texas. She was the proud grandma of Brock A. Beadle. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ann (Gail) Rock of Phoenix, AZ, Rebecca S. (Ron) Wilson, Faith C. Baker both of South Bend and Gloria G. Waddell of Fort Stockton, Texas, and by her brothers, Nathan H. (Beverly) Holcomb of Atmore, Alabama, and Thomas W. Holcomb of South Bend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoy and Ruth Holcomb and by a brother, Daniel P. Holcomb.
There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1st, at Pentecostal Apostolic Church, 59366 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, September 30th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the church and also one hour prior to service. Flowers may be delivered to the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel”, 23421 S. R. 23, South Bend, In 46614 prior to visitation.
