Sheila Jahnke Obituary

  Sheila R. Jahnke, 70, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, February 23rd at Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.

  Sheila was born on May 3rd, 1951, in South Bend to the late Chester C. and Dorothy Spychalski. She is survived by her husband, Herb Jahnke, whom she married on December 2, 1994, in South Bend, daughters: Lisa, Lori and Jessica Goepfrich and stepsons, John H. Jahnke of Maryland, Dr. Christopher E. (Lori) Jahnke of Pennsylvania, Andrew P. Jahnke of West Virginia and Herb P. Jahnke of South Bend, 15 grandchildren, and 3 brothers, Steve, Richard and Edward Spychalski.

 Sheila retired from Martin’s Supermarket after over 20 years, in the office and a cashier. In her pastime she loved to sew, gardening, cooking, watching older movies and loved football and baseball especially the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs.

  Memorial contributions can be made in Sheila’s name to Center for Hospice Care of St. Joseph County at 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

  Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 2nd from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at 23421 State Road 23/West Ireland Road, with the funeral service to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 3rd.  Burial to follow the service at Southlawn Cemetery.
