Shirley A. Walter, 76, of South Bend passed away in her home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, with her loving family by her side, following an extended illness.
Shirley was born on May 14, 1943 in South Bend to the late Henry Versmesse and Erma (Dhaene) Versmesse. She is survived by her husband, Neil O. Walter, daughter, Sherri L, son, Brian C. Walter both of South Bend, four grandchildren, and almost two great-grandchildren, three brothers; Larry of New Carlisle, Michael of South Bend and Gary Versmesse of Rolling Prairie.
She retired as a secretary from Notre Dame Human Resources and Chuck & Sons Plumbing.
Shirley enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, baking, canning and loved being with her family.

Cremation has taken place.
