Stephen E. Bunch, 73, of Lakeville, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, May 26th in his residence. Steve was born in South Bend to Sylvester and Florence (King) Bunch on January 25, 1953.
To some, he was known simply as "Brother Steve" or "Uncle Steve," while to many neighbors he was the familiar face waving from the railing of his front porch. He took pride in maintaining a meticulous yard, feeding the stray cats that wandered by, and could often be found tinkering with his vehicles or lawnmower. Steve spent his entire life in the same small house he called home from childhood until his passing. Though he kept much to himself, the walls of his home were covered with family photographs, a quiet reflection of the lasting impact that they held in his life.
Steve is survived by his sisters; Jan M. Boyd of South Bend, Lisa Hanley of North Liberty, and his brothers, Gary, Lester, and Richard Bunch. Steve is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Vicki Bunch and Minnie Ewing.
There will be no services schedules at this time. Cremation is to take place with a private graveside at Fair Cemetery of Lakeville. Hanley and Sons is assisting the family with arrangements.
