Vicki passed peacefully in her home in Portland, IN on March 14, 2025.
Vicki was born on October 24, 1961, in Lakeville, IN. At a young age she was diagnosed with a cognitive disability. However, this did not hinder her ability to experience life to the fullest. She enjoyed concerts, the JRDS work shop, prom, the 4-H fair, spending time with her family (biological and chosen) and sitting on the patio or recliner with a glass of Yoo-Hoo.
Vicki came from a family of eight siblings and spent her young years surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her sisters, Lisa (Jon) Hanley and Jan Kurtz, by her brothers, Richard Bunch, Stephen Bunch, Gary Bunch, and Lester Bunch, and by her favorite niece, Lindsey Hanley, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Florence Bunch, her father, Sylvester Bunch, and by her sister, Elaine (Chuck) Ewing.
As an adult, she was placed into the community of kind and compassionate individuals with JRDS/Union Street, which became her chosen family for nearly 28 years. They provided her with care, opportunities and experiences that will not be forgotten.
Without ever speaking a word she taught us; perseverance, unconditional love and finding beauty in the simple things. We are experiencing the grief and sadness of this loss, but we are also delighted that she has been reunited with family, special friends and is now free from the limitations she experienced in this life.
Private services will be held for immediate family only at the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel”.
Hanley and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and wish to extend deepest heartfelt condolences to all of Vicki’s family and friends.
