God broke the mold when he created Shonk. He was a quiet hero in so many ways, he loved his country, family and friends without reservation. You could always count on him when you needed help.

Mary,Gary, Steve, and Sue and all of the grand and great grand kids, my family grieves with you. We are so thankful all of the good times we have shared with Shonk and your family. He will be missed.

Mary,

My parents, Dick and Virginia Dickerson always talked so nice about you and Marshall. They said you where both very special people. I know they would want me to tell you that I am sorry for your loss.

Dear Mary, Sue, Gary and Steve,

We are so sorry to hear of Shonk's passing. Our family has always valued your friendship over the years. There were times that it seemed like mom and Shonk were competing as to which one would go first. It's time for you to take care of yourself now, Mary.

I wish I could be there to give you my condolences in person but I am undergoing chemo right now for breast cancer and have to be very careful about going out in the cold and my immune system is compromised right now. You are in our thoughts and prayers!
